Summer Internship Program WOB’s exciting and unique summer internship is a professional mentoring program geared to complement a standard college academic curriculum but not duplicate it. Our mentoring program gives our interns the opportunity to mount three musical theatre productions in a professional summer stock, participating as performers in addition to carrying technical responsibilities. Throughout the summer the interns have daily technical calls, rehearsals, workshops, and seminars. Way Off Broadway interns have the wonderful opportunity of taking workshops conducted by the visiting guest artists and professionals who also perform along side the interns during the summer season. Interns will have the opportunity of being mentored by nationally and internationally recognized talent like Len Cariou, Richard Kind, Liz Callaway, Anne Runolfsson, Steven DeRosa, Joel Blum, Robby Benson, Karla DeVito, Stan Brown, John Smitherman, Stephen Swanson, David Malis and Sean McCall. The workshops and seminars offered throughout the summer aid in preparing young artists for a bright future in the performing arts. "How To Audition for Musical Theatre," "Acting for Film and Television," and "Professional Development" are some of the workshops offered. Interns will learn the skill sets to market themselves as artists, they will also learn many aspects of musical theatre as well as film and television, and discover new techniques to apply to their careers. How to Apply To apply simply send a Resume, Headshot, and a one page statement explaining, why you'd like to be an intern with Way off Broadway. Be sure to include any information about your technical abilities and what you hope to learn as an intern with Way Off Broadway and what you would bring to the program. If your aspirations lie solely in the technical aspect of theatre we will gladly welcome your submission as a technical intern. You can also send a DVD of your audition submission including two 2-minute songs from any musical theatre show of your choosing as well as a 2 minute monologue from any play or musical. You may also submit web links of performance clips. Remember, your submission should showcase you at your best and let us in on how amazing you are!
